How long can I rent for?

We offer multi day, weekly and multi week rentals.We have a three day minimum on boats rented in Talbot and Dorchester County. We have a 5 day minimum in Kent, Queen Anne’s, Caroline and Cecil Counties.

What is your cancellation policy?

In rare cases we give refunds due to cancellation. To reserve and secure your dates in advance, we charge a non refundable deposit that is applied to your total costs of the rental. If Dockside cancels on the renter (typically due to unsafe conditions or weather-thunder, lightning, high winds etc., refunds will be issued accordingly

Who pays for the gas?

The renter covers all fuel. We deliver the boat with a full tank of gas and will provide full external fuel tanks (per request). After your rental, we will top everything off, send you a copy of the receipt and charge for the fuel used vs. our initial drop off. We do NOT charge a refill fee.

Why does it seem like it is expensive?

The reality of boating is that it can be expensive. To own a boat can be costly, but we are also providing a service. We handle the expenses of running the business, maintaining the boats, vehicle expenses etc., leaving us with the service we offer and our time. No matter where you are coming from, we take the effort to owning a boat out.

How many people can your largest boat hold?

Comfortably, our biggest boat (Walker Bay Generation 525 DLX) has seating for 8 people.

We don’t have a dock. Can we still rent a boat?

Since we currently do not have slips and want to stay mobile, we require you to provide an accessible dock for your rental. Typically, renters own or have a dock at their vacation home. But for those that do not have access to a dock, we have had customers reach out to local marinas for a short term slip rental. We would be happy to point you in the right direction for this. We do not cover any costs for gaining access to boat slips.

When do you drop off the rental equipment?

We always touch base 24-48 before your rental to coordinate. Typically, we drop off in the morning the start date of your rental period. In flexible situations, we may offer to drop off your rental equipment the evening before your rental start date.

When do you pick up the rental equipment?

We have a strict pick-up time of 5:00 pm on the last day of your rental. This is to give us enough time considering daylight and transportation.
